Tonight is my little brother’s prom. Before he left, though, I snapped a few pictures of him with his date.

You Raise Me Up

Posted in Uncategorized by Emily on April 5, 2009

I have always loved telling stories. As a wedding photographer, I am the documenter of a very particular, very beautiful story: the one of love. Cliche as that might sound, capturing the passion of love is one that, in a way, completes my soul. To look at a man’s face, or to look at a woman’s face, and see that quiet sort of adoration and desperation is quite possibly one of the most amazing experiences in the world. Working with Jillian and Adam was one of those experiences. I hope that sharing these photographs with you inspires you the way the two of them have inspired me.

Autumn in Spring

Posted in Uncategorized by Emily on March 28, 2009

Autumn was sweet enough to go pose a bit for me today. We had a lot of fun, until I got a flat tire on Vine Street and we were forced to replace it in the middle of traffic!

My brother and I are three years apart in age, but four years apart in school. This means that we’re both soon-to-be graduates. This is the first set of senior pictures I’ve ever shot, and I’m pretty pleased with the result!

The storms didn’t only batter E-town, but they struck parts of Lexington pretty badly, too. I did some spot news for the Kernel yesterday, and a few images ran in the paper! I was pretty excited. For that reason though, these photos are the property of the Kentucky Kernel and should NOT be reproduced in any way.
