Our World In Pictures
I have been volunteering for the past few weeks at a program downtown called “Our World In Pictures,” where I have been mentoring young children from low-income families. At the program, we teach the children how to express themselves through photography. Today’s lesson was on portraits, and these are two of my favorites that I snapped while teaching.
Senior Portraits: Phoebe
I took two sets of Phoebe: one with her dog, Ivy, at Keeneland, and one out in Hartford with her horse, Max.
Going Back
Today I went back through Jillian and Adam’s engagement take, and found this photo that I had somehow missed. This is why it’s always good to give your photos a second glance. This photo is in my top three for favorites of the day.
Russian Orthodox
I have never shot a wedding like the one I shot today. Russian Orthodox weddings are kind of crazy!
Tom Goes To Prom
Tonight is my little brother’s prom. Before he left, though, I snapped a few pictures of him with his date.
You Raise Me Up
I have always loved telling stories. As a wedding photographer, I am the documenter of a very particular, very beautiful story: the one of love. Cliche as that might sound, capturing the passion of love is one that, in a way, completes my soul. To look at a man’s face, or to look at a woman’s face, and see that quiet sort of adoration and desperation is quite possibly one of the most amazing experiences in the world. Working with Jillian and Adam was one of those experiences. I hope that sharing these photographs with you inspires you the way the two of them have inspired me.
